New Ground

Project Date: March 2018

Ground.  For all of the innovation and speculation in the architectural field, ground holds fast as it stood since its inception.  Gravity's pull has pulled projects to its force whether intentionally or not.  Projects are either of the ground, or have nothing to do with the ground.  What would a project that is only the ground be?

Looking at the work of Marrikka Trotter regarding Robert Adam and his geological renditions of architecture, this project looks to ground as the point of departure.  It is the project.  What can one do to represent ground, mind you not geology, in an architectural way, without ground?  What would a architecture that has been grounded do to the diagram of building and ground?
